Ian was nice enough to talk his influential album, Captain Beefheart‘s Safe as Milk:

Captain Beefheart

“This Album has some of the best Guitar Riffage possible. Both Performance and Tone wise. Done by a young Ry Cooder. He is the man responsible for not only being a Bad Ass Guitar Player but for also teaching Keith Richards the 5 string Open G style of Guitar. So You can say Ry has helped define Rock as we know it. This Album is in my top 1 records of ALL Time.”
