Listen To Gardens & Villa’s “Everybody”

0

Santa Barbara’s Gardens & Villa has owned a special spot with OpenEars Music ever since the release of their self titled debut in 2011 creating spaced out jams behind that album and 2014’s Dunes alongside some of the best live shows we’ve seen in that time span. They’ve always had a way to highlight the vocals in their songs behind perfectly placed synths and sometimes a bag of flutes, taking you on a trip.

As Gardens & Villa prepares the release of their new album, Music For Dogs, out 8/21 via Secretly Canadian, they’ve already released the first single “Fixations“, which we’ve been playing non stop on our summer playlist.

Gardens & Villa "Everybody"

Gardens & Villa “Everybody”

Today, Gardens & Villa have released their brand new single, “Everybody” a song with social commentary and nice piano lines. The song broaches the subject of social dissipation in a digitized world, hinting at a desire for something more real. “’Everybody’ is a song inspired by our modern love lives,” says Gardens & Villa’s Chris Lynch.  “Technology fueled jealousy, lust, vanity, voyeurism, and network personas, topped off with a personal curiosity and willingness to participate in what often resembles science fiction.”

This is a subject we’ve all felt a time or two in today’s digital world and signals another growth in the evolution of Gardens & Villa. This is one album we can’t wait to get our hand on.

Gardens & Villa will begin their U.S. tour in mid-September, with performances spanning three months and the entire country. Music For Dogs is out August 21ston Secretly Canadian. All tour dates are below.
