New Music Tuesday 6/23

This week’s New Music Tuesday has one throw back album that we have been eagerly awaiting it’s arrival, a great album we missed last week, and much more.

Our top 4 picks from this week’s list include:

Leon Bridges: Coming Home – Leon Bridges brings back that retro soul feel of the 50s and 60s. We’ve been waiting on someone to do this sound right since before it was retro and just soul. Ever since Leon popped on the scene with the first single, “Coming Home”, we’ve been loving his sound and eagerly anticipating this album. This is already one of the year’s best albums.

Thundercat: The Beyond / Where the Giants Roam – Producer/bassist/R&B singer Thundercat drops a new mini-LP of jazz funk on us.

De Lux: Generation – LA post-punk/post-disco band De Lux had a great debut album in 2014’s Voyage and we’ve been waiting to get our hands on. With seeming influences ranging from LCD Soundsystem, to Talking Heads, to Holy Ghost!, this is a band that can get you moving and should provide a great summer soundtrack.

GENGAHR: Dream Outside – London’s GENGAHR released their first single last year and immediately started making noise. Earlier this year they released their debut EP She’s A Witch with 4 great songs (included on the album) that had us truly excited for this band. They have already started making the festival circuit, and with a psychedelic sound in the vein of an MGMT or less rock Tame Impala, this band is set to blow up behind this LP. This album was officially out last week, but somehow we missed this one that has been highly anticipated.

The Rest of the List: Don’t stop with those albums, there is still plenty more worth checking out this week that might just hit you right.

Bully: Feels Like

Cayucas: Dancing at the Blue Lagoon

Desaparecidos: Payola

Linden: Rest and Be Thankful

Parlour Tricks: Broken Hearts / Bones

Reno Bo: Lessons from a Shooting Star

Son Lux: Bones

Wolf Alice: My Love Is Cool
