It was a cool night in Atlanta on Friday, December 1st, and all the cool kids were at Terminal West for the Sun Seeker, The Weeks, and The Districts show.

Sun Seeker

Sun Seeker got the show rolling with their chilled out psychedelic rock. The four piece from Nashville describe their music as divorce rock and this is a completely new term to me, but I can see it and how the term makes sense. The guys have a folksy, psychedelic rock, seeped in emotional melancholy sound. Sun Seeker recently released their debut EP Biddeford with Third Man Records and are currently touring.

The Weeks

The Weeks came out strong, amping up the crowd with their raucous rock and roll. The group from Mississippi have been playing and touring together since they were teenagers. The Weeks are still young guns in their twenties but have experience under their belt and it shows in their live performance. The guys really engage the crowd getting everyone to get down on the floor and then jump up into a rock and roll frenzy. Someone from the crowd threw unicorn pajamas onto the stage and The Weeks guitar player rocked them for a song. Their most recent album, Easy, was released in the spring of 2017 and they are currently touring. These guys put on a fun show and are great musicians.

The Districts

Coming in hot were The Districts.  It was a pretty packed house and the majority of the crowd was there for the evening’s headliner. When The Districts came out on stage the young crowd went berserk. The Districts finished out the night with their frenetic, punk esque rock. Their sound may be described as indie rock but there are definitely some heavier influences. They started out with some heavier hitting songs and kept the set going with solid rock and roll. Like The Weeks, The Districts have played together since they were teenagers. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for The Districts, as the band continues to grow with each new release – not only sonically, but also their audience. Definitely a band you must catch live, including next year’s festival circuit (such as Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival)!
